Duties / Responsibilities
The Presales Lead is an integral part of the sales team responsible for both business development and sales of SAP solutions. As such, the responsibilities are as follows:
- Early qualification of leads as well as identification of relevant stakeholders and decision makers for a sales opportunity
- Structured discovery of requirements, needs and objectives of potential customers, including through on-site visits of facilities, to plan product demonstrations and provide proposals
- Plan, configure and execute a compelling product demonstration that shows how SAP solutions, mainly EWM and complementary solutions like YL and TM can meet customer requirements
- Develop and maintain a good relationship with prospects, customers and partners to strengthen and sell the value of SAP solutions and drive outcomes
- Participation in sales strategy development meetings and provide updates on currently running bids
- Preparation of high-quality RFI and RFP responses
- Assisting in preparation of commercially viable service estimates that balance and optimize global and local resourcing to ensure competitiveness and profitability
- Supporting the development of deal specific pricing and commercial strategies and commercial (client) dialogue
- Preparation of compelling proposal presentations and presenting to customers
- High quality client engagement and client presentations throughout the sales lifecycle
- Planning, preparation and execution of other sales and marketing related activities like creating white papers or webinars, attend trade shows and conferences, conduct speeches on specific topics and support of marketing campaigns
Qualifications
Essential skills / abilities
- A BS degree in relevant discipline (engineering, computer science, business); advanced degree a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, to effectively interact with internal/external stakeholders at all levels
- A high level of motivation and ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment with a high level of self sufficiency
- A minimum of (3) years of EWM consulting experience, and presales or sales experience
- Strong knowledge of warehouse, distribution and transportation business processes and best practices as well as industry pain points and challenges in at least two industries
- Excellent knowledge of SAP architecture and general SAP ecosystem
- Good knowledge of SAP integration aspects and of features supported by other modules of SAP
- Willingness to travel regularly for visits to clients
- Flexibility to take up other client-facing tasks like EWM consulting and project management
